High Priority Update: If you are using more than one till (POS Point) with ROBOTILL you need to download and install the latest version. There was a problem that caused a sale to disappear (very infrequently) if multiple tills were used at the same time.This problem has been fixed in version 4.3 that is now available for download. Other New Features in ROBOTILL Version 4.3 The Restaurant Module now also supports a barcode scanner in the main POS screen. This change was requested as some restaurants and coffee shops not only sells items from their menu but also loose items that needs to be scanned. Customers can now be deleted (in the past you could only add and edit customers). The Export Manager has been improved to support scale software that requires fonts in the export files. ROBOTILL has supported customers for some time (accounts, statements, etc). Version 3.77 has just been released with two new customer reports ( General Customers Report and Account Payments Report ). Other enhancements in version 3.77 include a new safety check to prevent cashiers from accidently adding a payment twice and some user interface enhancements. Version 3.71 of ROBOTILL ( Point of Sale Software ) is now available for download. The following is new in Version 3.71: The Bulk Import functionality has been improved. You can now Import and Update stock items with a CSV (comma separated) file. It is now very flexible and you can choose what fields you want to import or update. A 'Export File for Update' was added to Bulk Import and Update so that you can export stock to a CSV file, do updates via Excel or Open Office Calc and then import the file again to update your stock.  The Till Slip that includes customer details will now be used when a customer was selected for a sale, and not only when a payment was done from an customer account. The slip in Print Design is now called 'Customer Account Till Slip'. A Date only (no time) was added to the Print Design in addition to the Date and Time field. The POS Software System  ROBOTILL now supports Price Modes. Price modes can be configured and be used for things like 'Happy Hour'. While in the special price mode, the price mode button will remain red and indicate the active mode. The Price Mode feature is available in the Restaurant POS Module and the Retail POS Module. The Price mode will change all the prices to second or third tier prices and can be applied for a period (over several sales) or for a specific sale. Other changes in version 3.61 include the following: The Print Design screen has been improved to allow for easier design in larger size papers. The Price Maintenance and Specials is now easier to use. A Hot Key for price changes was added. Customer VAT Number added to 'Till Slip with account payment'. Designing and setting up your till slips in ROBOTILL is very easy and flexible. The print design tool in ROBOTILL allows you to design all your printed forms with easy drag and drop. Now with version 3.5 it is even more customizable. ROBOTILL now added new 'table' items. The difference with the new items is that you can add any column in any order. Previously you could only choose from different column layouts. This is ideal if you are printing on pre-printed stationary or if you need to do something out of the ordinary. To use the new items, simply remove the standard 'detail' section that contained the items that was sold and replace it with the new 'table' items. You can add them in any order. They are 'grow' items so they will cause the items below to move down depending on how many items were sold (except for items that you have set as fixed height).  Unfortunately the new table items are not available in the FREE Point of Sale Sys...

Existing customers of the popular Point of Sale System ROBOTILL should take note of the following two important changes in Version 3.41: Change in how Cash Drawers work in ROBOTILL: If a cash drawer (shift) has not been opened for a cashier and the cashier logs in, the system will now automatically open a cash drawer (shift) for that user and allocate a default float. This feature can be disabled in Manager if required. The default float can also be specified in Manager.  When a cashier does a Cash Up, the drawer will not be closed (shift will be ended). The cash drawer can alternatively be closed from Manager.  In Manager, a Cash Drawer now needs to be Finalized. A Cash Drawer is Finalized to confirm that the cash counted by the cashier is the actual cash returned.  Change how 'Quantity Change' work in ROBOTILL: To change quantity of an item, the item now first needs to be scanned (or selected) before changing the quantity. ROBOTILL now supports a card reader for logging in users (cashiers, supervisors, waiters). If this option is selected, it will replace the default login where a user needs to select his name from a list and type a password to log in. Other new features in version 3.31 of ROBOTILL include: A refund can now be allocated to an account (previously only cash refunds were supported). The customer account will be updated and the customer statement will reflect the refund. New stock items can now be created during stock receiving. Tier prices can now be updated in the price maintenance screen and during stock receiving. Payment screen improved to speed up payments. ROBOTILL has released version 3.24.1. The following features was added: The cash required and outstanding amounts can be hidden in the Cash Up Screen and the Cash Up print out. This can be selected in Manager > General Configuration. The account selection screen has been improved for quicker account selection. There is now a separate Print Design Layout for slips that are printed when an account payment was used. You can now add customer account information to the slip like account name, contact details and account balance. You can also add a place for the customer to sign on the slip. ROBOTILL was able to read scale barcodes (barcodes that contain the weight or price) for quite some time. In the latest version of  ROBOTILL , it is also now possible to update your prices and stock on your scales (POS or Point of Sale scale) directly from  ROBOTILL . How it works: ROBOTILL  has an Export Manager that allows you to setup an export project for your Scale Software. You can set up the file in the format that your scale software will expect it. With the click of a button the file is exported and your Scale Software will pick it up and update your stock on the scale. Please note: Although  ROBOTILL  has developed the export system in such a way that it is very flexible and will work with most scales, we cannot guarantee that it will work with every single scale and its associated scale program. 

When it gets to performance, ROBOTILL is one of the best choices. It doesn't matter how many POS points (tills) are connected to the system, it is still very fast. You can speed up the process (payments at tills) even further by removing one small step a cashier needs to do. It's just one button click (or ENTER key) less per transaction … but when a cashiers does a couple of hundred transactions in a day it will make a difference. By default when the payment amount is reached (there can be more than one payment method per sale), the 'Done' button becomes available and the 'Change' the customer should get is displayed in the pay screen (see below). You can change this so that the pay screen will close automatically when the required amount is reached. The cashier will then not need to click on the 'Done' button. New changes in Version 3.03: Categories can now be hidden from the Restaurant module . This is useful if you have categories that you only want to display in the Retail module or if you have stock items that are not sold like ingredients. Default Table Option added to restaurant module. This is useful for Fast Food shops that don’t have tables. If this option is chosen, the cashier will not need to select a table for each sale. The table option will still be there that can be used for telephone orders. Invoice Number / GRV Number added to Stock Receiving. The Stock Receiving report can also now be filtered with the Invoice / GRV Number. With version 3 of ROBOTILL , a new Restaurant Module was added that is ideal for Restaurants, Bars and Fast Food shops. The Restaurant/Bar module can work with any number of tables and waiters. The custom function that allows you to select items from a specific category was improved. ROBOTILL Version 2.8 was released and is ready for download. The POS Cash-UP screen has been improved (click on the image below to enlarge it). The Cash-Up Break Down can now also be printed on the Till Printer. The layout of the print out can be designed in Manager in the Print Layout Section. The ‘More’ screen that contain your custom functions, shortcuts to stock items and other programs has been improved. Click on the image below to enlarge it. The screen now uses buttons instead of a list box. This makes it easier for touch screens. Other changes include: Stock levels can now go into negative. This has been requested by customers and would be needed if you didn’t have time yet to import the new stock into the system. We have released version 2.75 of our POS Software . The following has changed: The time was added to the date field in the Drawer Report. Sales Per Day Report was fixed. The Price Including Tax showed the Price Excluding Tax. The Item Description column in the POS application was made bigger. When doing a big sale, the last item wasn’t always visible and the cashier had to scroll down. This has been fixed. The Change in the Pay screen was made bigger. In the Pay screen the user (cashier) can now no longer use ESC to close the screen. They are forced to click on Done or Cancel. When converting a Quote to a sale it caused an error in the previous version. This is now fixed. ROBOTILL allows you to add a Take Away Menu (or something similar) to your tills (Touch screen system or standard computer). The following are instructions on how to add the take away menu but will also work for any other menu you want to add. In ROBOTILL Manager add a category for the take away menu. The stock description of the category will be used in the More screen of the POS application . Change the category of the items you want included in the take away menu to the Take Away category (under Stock Maintenance). In Manager, go to Setup > Custom Functions and select ‘Stock Category’. Select the category you want to add as a short cut option in the POS screen. That is it. The Take Away Menu has now been added and is available at all tills. Version 2.72 of the POS Software System ROBOTILL has been released and can be downloaded from http://www.robotill.com What’s new in Version 2.72? Stock on Hand Report now displays total cost value and sell value. Stock on hand (stock count) will not fall below zero if the user forgot to import new stock. Stock that has a negative stock count from previous versions can be adjusted with the Stock Take feature. Time added to the date on the till slip. Customer account name has been replaced with a system generated account number. Customer selection and filtering improved. White space in numbers are now automatically removed instead of warning the user that it is an invalid number. There is a problem with adding new customers in version 2.71 that was briefly available for download. This problem is fixed in version 2.72. As always, all ROBOTILL customers can upgrade to the new version free of charge.

ROBOTILL Version 2.3 has been released and is available for download. New Features: The screen layout of the main POS screen has been changed to be more Touch Screen friendly. Several other changes have been made for touch screen support in other screens as well. The system however still works great with or without a touch screen.  The More button can now further be customized to include shortcuts to commonly used stock, POS functions and/or custom functions to interact with other systems. The BULK import function can also now accept Stock On Hand as an optional field. Stock Receiving now allows you to capture the Price including or excluding tax if a price change is applicable. ROBOTILL Version 2.1 has been released and is available for download. New in version 2.1: Graphical Print Layout Design System The new version has a powerful and flexible print layout design system. You can now fully customize all your printed forms including till slips, refund slips, account payment slips, quotes and order slips. Changing the layout is now easy with the new ‘drag and drop’ graphical interface. Order Slips and Department Printers The system allows you to optionally print Order Slips. An order slip is a slip that will be printed to a department printer of items purchased from that department. Examples where you would use a department printer: If your store has a Take away (Fast Food) department you can setup a printer in the kitchen. ROTOBILL Version 1.3 has been released. Enhancements include the following: You can now change the ROTOBILL Logo in the POS Application (Till application) with your company logo. The customization of the till slip is now even more flexible. It is now also possible to add a logo (image) to the till slip, account payment slip and refund slip. The system now supports EAN-8 and EAN-13 barcodes for label printing. More will be added soon. A new department report that includes commissions per department was added.
