  ROBOTILL Version 9.11 has been released. The accounting integration has been improved to make it simpler and easier. It is also more generic to import into other accounting systems. We will be releasing a video on how the new integration works in the next couple of days. The following were also added: New Sales Tax report. It is a detail report of how your total sales tax (VAT) is calculated for a specific period and include invoice numbers and amounts per sale.  Print items added to the order slip layout. These items can be added to the order slip if required.  The new version of the point of sale system can be downloaded here . 

  This training video shows how to set up products with sub items - also know as compound items. It uses some interesting examples like draught beer. The video uses version 9.03 of the ROBOTILL Point of Sale System .

  ROBOTILL just released version 9.03 of their point of sale system. The new update has improvements for users of both the restaurant software and retail software .  The following is new: The cash withdrawal and cash drop functionality now prints a slip that can be customized in the print design tool of ROBOTILL.   The registration process has been improved so that the registration process is easier to follow. The till session report has been improved - more detail added. The cash up has been improved - required amounts for non-cash methods (card and other custom methods) are now taking refunds of the same payment type into account. The free edition no longer prompts the user to upgrade during log-in's. Stock take has been improved - attribute view was added and stock on hand for the scan option was added. As part of an effort to help our customers during the COVID-19 crisis, ROBOTILL added delivery features to their retail and restaurant modules. This video shows how to use the delivery features in the retail POS module. The new delivery features are available to all licenced ROBOTILL customers at n o additional cost.

ROBOTILL released an update (version 8.12) last night for the retail point of sale users to enable them to do deliveries as well (the update a couple of days ago were only for restaurants). Now both retailers and restaurants can keep track of deliveries. You can set up delivery orders, print delivery notes for drivers or couriers, intermediate bills for COD deliveries (in both the retail and restaurant modules), keep track of stock, and much more. The new delivery features are available to licenced ROBOTILL customers at no additional charge. ROBOTILL just made upgrading to a new version of ROBOTILL easier. With previous versions you first had to uninstall your old version before you could install the new one. Now you can simply run the new install file and it will upgrade your current installation. Note that if you have a version older than ROBOTILL 8.00 you will still need to first uninstall your old version (for the last time). See the online help for more detail . ROBOTILL regularly releases new upgrades that are available and free to all users (also for the users using the Free Point of Sale Program ). We will post an update on this blog and facebook for new features that were added, but we don't always post and article on our blog or facebook for minor quality fixes and improvements. Loyalty programs are very popular these days. A good loyalty program will help you retain customers and increase sales. ROBOTILL now has a flexible, points-based loyalty program. When a customer card is scanned/swiped and a customer has earned enough points the new reward button will become visible to the cashier. The customer will be able to choose from a list of rewards or even have the option to convert the points to cash to help pay for the sale (the cash reward is optional and can be turned off). The customer details and points earned can be printed on the receipt to encourage the customer to come back and spend more. The loyalty program is very flexible and can be set up to work for your specific requirements. To see how to set up your loyalty program, see Loyalty Program in our online help . The loyalty program is available in the POS Retail Module and the POS Restaurant module. It is not available in the Free Edition.

Version 8.02 of the ROBOTILL Point of Sale Software system is available for download. All upgrades are free including for the users using the Free POS System . What's new in Version 8.02: The Bulk Import from Excel (or other spreadsheet programs) have been improved. More fields were added and the export is now adding text delimiters when commas are used as part of the description. Product Sales Report was improved. The report can now be filtered by Top Sellers (by quantity) and Top Sellers (by value).  Additional filters and sort options were also added. More fields were added to the Stock Receiving report. The additional fields are only available in the CSV export due to the space limitation in the main report. You can now delete Suppliers, Departments and Categories. How to receive and sell stock in different combinations with your Retail Software using compound items. In this video we use the example of a 6 pack coke that you can sell as a 6 pack or individual coke cans. ROBOTILL Version 7.15 has been released and can be downloaded from the ROBOTILL website. We release new versions (minor upgrades) of our Point of Sale Software System on a regular basis. We are also working on a big and exciting release (major new release) that should be available by the end of the year. What is new in version 7.15? The system log has been replaced by the 'Event Log' and several improvements were made including more filters, more detail per item logged and more types of events being logged. The Event Log is now available from the ROBOTILL Manager menu under History (previously the system log was available from the Tools menu). Order Slips can now also be reprinted from historic sales. This can be done from ROBOTILL Manager > History > Sales > Select Reprint Order Slip. A fix was done to the date and time of reprints of intermediate bills. ROBOTILL Version 7.09 has been released and is available for download. New features include quotations and invoice history, alternative account numbers for customers and more. New features and enhancements in version 7.09.00: The quotation feature can now be changed to be used to create invoices as well. A quotation(invoice) history form has been added to ROBOTILL Manager (from the menu select History > Quotations). For more information see the Quotation section in the online help . Alternative customer account numbers are now available if you choose not to use the ROBOTILL allocated account number. These account numbers can be used for the customer cards if needed. When a customer wants to exchange an item you could just do a refund on the first sale and then do a new sale. However, giving the customer the cash back and then doing a new sale is a bit cumbersome. You also might have an exchange policy but not allow refunds. There is a very good and efficient solution for exchanges in ROBOTILL . ROBOTILL allows you to refund cash or refund into an account. You wouldn't want to create a new customer account each time a customer wants to exchange an item. The solution is to create a couple of  'Exchange Credit Cards'. Setting up your Exchange Cards Open General Configuration in  ROBOTILL Manager > Setup > System Configuration. Check 'Use Customer Cards' and Update. In Customers, create a couple of  Exchange Credit Customers - 'Exchange Credit 1', 'Exchange Credit 2', etc.  - See below: You can then print exchange credit cards with a barcode containing the customer account number. One of the most important features of a Point of Sale System is the ability to tell if there are cash missing and who is responsible. This is done by linking a cashier to a specific cash drawer (the money in the till). But what do you do if your shop does not have a dedicated cashier per till and your employees share a till point and cash drawer? ROBOTILL allows you to work with any number of cashiers during a shift(s). Each cashier however is linked to a specific cash drawer. This is the only way an employee can be held responsible for the money in the till. All the transactions done is linked to a cash drawer - and to the cashier linked to that drawer. So what do you do when you want to allow multiple cashiers to share one cash drawer? This set up is not recommended as you will obviously not be able to tell who was responsible if there is cash short during cash up. If however you trust your employees and you want to work like this, then you can do the following: ROBOTIL...

In ROBOTILL version 7 you can now choose different colour (or color depending where you are from) themes for your point of sale modules. You can also customize these themes and select colours for product buttons and custom buttons for easier and quicker selection by cashiers and waiters. The POS colours (that can now be selected) is used throughout the POS modules and not just in the main screens. Various screens have been improved for easier and quicker selection with more buttons per 'page'.  The 'Product Category' screen that can be opened from a custom button in the 'More' screen has been improved.  The slip history now displays payment types in the main screen to enable users to find the required slip more easily.  The 'Tip' screen was improved and now allows the waiter to add the tip amount...

The ROBOTILL Retail Point of Sale Module allows you to add custom touch screen buttons. These buttons can be accessed by pressing the 'More' button in the Retail Module. The buttons can be shortcuts to POS functions like 'Convert a sale to a quote' or shortcuts to products that are frequently used but don't have barcodes (for example a plastic carry bag). There are 4 types of functions (buttons) that can be added: Shortcut to a POS Function like 'Open Drawer'. Shortcut to a Product.  Shortcut to a Product Category. External programs can be called with various parameters so that ROBOTILL can interact with other 3rd party software or custom add-on's.  If a Product Category button is added and pressed in the retail module, a product selection screen for that category will be opened. ROBOTILL version 6.05 allows you to choose different printers for different forms (till slips, receipts, quotations, intermediate bills, etc). With previous versions the default printer would have been used by POS Retail module and POS Restaurant module. You can now for instance choose that the receipts be printed on your POS slip printer but that the lay-bye contracts be printed on a A4 printer.  To see how to set this up see: POS Printers in our online help The different forms can also be designed for different stationary (slip paper or A4) - see Print Design for more information. Other changes in version 6.05: The Refunds report has been improved.  It is now possible to turn on a warning if stock that is 'out of stock' is being added to a sale. ROBOTILL released version 6.04.01 of their Point of Sale System with the following enhancements and fixes: New discounts report was added. Available at Reports > Sales > Discounts. On the Restaurant POS Module, if you selected that waiters must enter their passwords, you can now allow a manager or supervisor to select the table without needing to change the waiter at the table. This is done with the security override feature and the security level required can be specified in the Task Security (new task is 'Select Any Table'). Pole display was fixed to show the price including or excluding tax as selected in setup. Combo deals and coupons did not display in the intermediate bill - this is now fixed.  The new version can be downloaded from the ROBOTILL Website .

ROBOTILL Version 6 has arrived and is ready for download. The biggest change in Version 6 is that ROBOTILL now has 'Branch Support' that allows you to manage multiple branches or shops remotely over the Internet. ROBOTILL Branch Manager ROBOTILL Branch Module allows you to do the following: Manage multiple shops using ROBOTILL Point of Sale Software over the Internet - no local network or VPN required between the shops or branches. Receive reports from the branches remotely. Update branches remotely with product setup, prices, print design and more. Do stock transfers between branches or shops and view the progress of the transfers (dispatch, delivery and quantities).
