You can now relax as ROBOTILL will do full database backups daily! We all know how important backups are for your Retail Store or your Restaurant . There is a lot that can go wrong: Hard Drive Failure Theft or Fire User error during a bulk operation like bulk stock import or updates. If you don't have a backup of your Point of Sale System , you could loose valuable data (sales history and reports). You could also face a lot of downtime while you need to set up the system again. This will not only be products and prices but also the print layout of slips, users, employees, etc. It always was possible to easily do a backup with ROBOTILL, but now with Version 5.1 you can enable automatic daily backups ... by simply checking one box. Version 4.13 of ROBOTILL is available for download . It is only the restaurant module that changed from version 4.12 to version 4.13. The following changes where done: In some cases (specific conditions needed to be present) some tables got stuck and it was not possible to clear these tables for new sales. This problem is fixed in version 4.13. Notes/comments added for specific items in an order was repeated on new order slips for that specific order - this is also now fixed. Do you want to accept Bitcoin in your restaurant or shop ? ROBOTILL allows you to set up Bicoin as a payment method. Bitcoin as a form of payment for products and services has grown, and merchants have an incentive to accept it because there are almost no fees. It is easy to generate a QR code from your bitcoin app that your customers can simply scan on their mobile phones to do the payment. You can now continue with sales even if the network goes down or if there is a problem with the server. ROBOTILL Version 3.81 has an off-line mode for the retail modules. The new off-line mode is only available for retail modules and not the restaurant modules. Working off-line is only an emergency measure. The system will allow you to continue with sales but a lot of the features will be disabled in off-line mode. For more information about the off-line mode see the help file of ROBOTILL (the off-line mode help is in the retail section of the help). Note: You should only set up the off-line system if you have multiple tills and really need to be able to work if the network goes down. The off-line system requires additional resources so it is not recommended for customers who do not need it. ROBOTILL has supported customers for some time (accounts, statements, etc). Version 3.77 has just been released with two new customer reports ( General Customers Report and Account Payments Report ). Other enhancements in version 3.77 include a new safety check to prevent cashiers from accidently adding a payment twice and some user interface enhancements. Designing and setting up your till slips in ROBOTILL is very easy and flexible. The print design tool in ROBOTILL allows you to design all your printed forms with easy drag and drop. Now with version 3.5 it is even more customizable. ROBOTILL now added new 'table' items. The difference with the new items is that you can add any column in any order. Previously you could only choose from different column layouts. This is ideal if you are printing on pre-printed stationary or if you need to do something out of the ordinary. To use the new items, simply remove the standard 'detail' section that contained the items that was sold and replace it with the new 'table' items. You can add them in any order. They are 'grow' items so they will cause the items below to move down depending on how many items were sold (except for items that you have set as fixed height).  Unfortunately the new table items are not available in the FREE Point of Sale Sys...

ROBOTILL released an urgent fix for their Point of Sale system . Version 3.24.4 is available for download. The urgent fix was for compound stock levels that where not calculated when selling compound items. A compound item is a stock item that consist of one or more sub items. For example a 6 pack of cokes is a compound item. It can be sold as a unit (6 pack) or the cokes (sub items) can be sold separately. Follow these instructions to upgrade to the new version . If you were using compound items you also need to do the following step once to fix any problems that where created with the previous version: Open Manager, from the Tools Menu select Database Tools and then ‘Recalculate Compound Stock Levels’. Other changes included in the new version: A fix was done in the Export Manager (used to export data to scale software and other programs). ROBOTILL has released version 3.24.1. The following features was added: The cash required and outstanding amounts can be hidden in the Cash Up Screen and the Cash Up print out. This can be selected in Manager > General Configuration. The account selection screen has been improved for quicker account selection. There is now a separate Print Design Layout for slips that are printed when an account payment was used. You can now add customer account information to the slip like account name, contact details and account balance. You can also add a place for the customer to sign on the slip. ROBOTILL was able to read scale barcodes (barcodes that contain the weight or price) for quite some time. In the latest version of  ROBOTILL , it is also now possible to update your prices and stock on your scales (POS or Point of Sale scale) directly from  ROBOTILL . How it works: ROBOTILL  has an Export Manager that allows you to setup an export project for your Scale Software. You can set up the file in the format that your scale software will expect it. With the click of a button the file is exported and your Scale Software will pick it up and update your stock on the scale. Please note: Although  ROBOTILL  has developed the export system in such a way that it is very flexible and will work with most scales, we cannot guarantee that it will work with every single scale and its associated scale program. 

When it gets to performance, ROBOTILL is one of the best choices. It doesn't matter how many POS points (tills) are connected to the system, it is still very fast. You can speed up the process (payments at tills) even further by removing one small step a cashier needs to do. It's just one button click (or ENTER key) less per transaction … but when a cashiers does a couple of hundred transactions in a day it will make a difference. By default when the payment amount is reached (there can be more than one payment method per sale), the 'Done' button becomes available and the 'Change' the customer should get is displayed in the pay screen (see below). You can change this so that the pay screen will close automatically when the required amount is reached. The cashier will then not need to click on the 'Done' button. The change a customer should get is also displayed in the main POS screen after the pay screen closes (see picture below). T...

The new version of ROBOTILL (Version 3.2) is available for download. Customers using the FREE Edition of ROBOTILL can also upgrade to the new version. With the new version it is much easier and quicker to set up compound stock items (stock items that consists of multiple sub items). Compound items are now specified on the same screen (Sub Item Tab). In the restaurant module waiters can now add notes to items. The notes will be printed on the Order Slips that are printed on the department printers (Kitchen, Bar, etc.) Other enhancements include: Reset Database Tool added. ROBOTILL is a Point of Sale system that you can download and install from the Internet. If the computer you want to install on is not connected to the internet, download the required install files from www.robotill.com and select ‘Save’ instead of ‘Open’ or ‘Run’. You can then copy these files to a USB memory stick (flash drive) and run/open them on the computer where you want to install. Below are the detailed steps to do the full ROBOTILL install (including the database server) on a computer that is not connected to the Internet. Step 1: Download the install files Go to the  ROBOTILL Downloads  and download the following files (Select 'Save' and not 'Run' or 'Open'.) RobotillComplete.zip  sqlexpr.exe (Do not open or run this file). Copy the files you have downloaded to the computer where you want to install. Upgrading to a new version of ROBOTILL ( Point of Sale Software ) is free for all customers including users of the free edition of the POS software. Before you upgrade, remember to do a backup first. Open Manager and click on Tools > Database Backup and Restore > Backup . After you have done the backup, follow the steps below: Open your control panel, go to ‘Uninstall Programs’ and uninstall ROBOTILL. Only ROBOTILL will be uninstalled, not the database or the dataset server. Download the latest version from http://www.robotill.com and run the install file. The new installation will detect that the database server and database is already installed. It will also automatically make the necessary changes to the database. Remember to upgrade all your tills (POS Retail and POS Restaurant) as well as your back office computer (Manager). 

New changes in Version 3.03: Categories can now be hidden from the Restaurant module . This is useful if you have categories that you only want to display in the Retail module or if you have stock items that are not sold like ingredients. Default Table Option added to restaurant module. This is useful for Fast Food shops that don’t have tables. If this option is chosen, the cashier will not need to select a table for each sale. The table option will still be there that can be used for telephone orders. Invoice Number / GRV Number added to Stock Receiving. The Stock Receiving report can also now be filtered with the Invoice / GRV Number. We have released version 2.75 of our POS Software . The following has changed: The time was added to the date field in the Drawer Report. Sales Per Day Report was fixed. The Price Including Tax showed the Price Excluding Tax. The Item Description column in the POS application was made bigger. When doing a big sale, the last item wasn’t always visible and the cashier had to scroll down. This has been fixed. The Change in the Pay screen was made bigger. In the Pay screen the user (cashier) can now no longer use ESC to close the screen. They are forced to click on Done or Cancel. When converting a Quote to a sale it caused an error in the previous version. This is now fixed. Version 2.72 of the POS Software System ROBOTILL has been released and can be downloaded from http://www.robotill.com What’s new in Version 2.72? Stock on Hand Report now displays total cost value and sell value. Stock on hand (stock count) will not fall below zero if the user forgot to import new stock. Stock that has a negative stock count from previous versions can be adjusted with the Stock Take feature. Time added to the date on the till slip. Customer account name has been replaced with a system generated account number. Customer selection and filtering improved. White space in numbers are now automatically removed instead of warning the user that it is an invalid number. There is a problem with adding new customers in version 2.71 that was briefly available for download. This problem is fixed in version 2.72. As always, all ROBOTILL customers can upgrade to the new version free of charge.
