ROBOTILL allows you to keep track of stock on hand, including ingredients. For this example we will look at how a shop can keep track of the amount of potatoes that was used. 1) Create an Ingredients Category To avoid all the ingredients popping up in the Point of Sale module when a cashier/waiter is busy selecting products, create a separate category for ingredients. Check the box 'Hide in POS Modules'. 2) Add the Ingredients as Products Lets say the shop receive the potatoes in 7 KG bags, then we add a product called 'Potatoes 7 kg'. Remember to select the 'Ingredients' category to prevent this item from showing up at the till. 3) Add the items that you want to sell Lets say a 'Small Chips' use 560g of potatoes.  That means from one 7 kg bag it will use 0.08 potatoes (560 / 7000 = 0.08 ). Custom orders (custom stock items) will be items like 'Build Your Own Pizza' where you allow the customer to choose his own toppings. The Restaurant Software Module allows you to add notes to items. These notes are great to let the kitchen know how a steak should be cooked as the instructions are only printed on the orders slips. The notes however will not work for custom orders as you want the order total to be adjusted depending on what custom toppings the customer chooses. For a 'custom order' it would be better to add items (toppings) as stock items. By default, ROBOTILL will not add another item to the order if the order already has that item. Instead it will increase the quantity of the item that is already in the order. The reason for this is to reduce the amount of till slip paper that is used.
